LION BUDOKAN KARATE INTERNATIONAL

PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT

Safety is our top priority at LBKI Karate. All students must wear LBKI-approved protective gear during sparring and self-defence sessions. Here’s everything you need to know about required equipment at each stage of your training.

BEGINNER'S KIT

WHAT YOU NEED WITHIN YOUR FIRST MONTH

Students must have their Beginner’s Kit within a month of joining to ensure the best training experience. This kit is required for all White Belt students from their very first grading.

01

Red or Blue Gloves

White Belts — Required Within First Month

LBKI-approved gloves are mandatory for all students from the Beginner’s Kit stage. Gloves must be either red or blue — the colour you choose will determine the colour of your other protective gear.

Important Note

LBKI-APPROVED GEAR ONLY

All equipment — including uniforms, belts, and protective gear — must be LBKI-approved. This ensures that all students adhere to the highest standards of safety, performance, and uniformity in our training and competitions.

ADVANCED KIT

REQUIRED AFTER YOUR FIRST GRADING

After your first grading, students need all items from the Beginner’s Kit plus the following additional equipment. All shin/foot protectors must match the colour of your gloves.

02

Shin & Foot Protectors

Post-First Grading

Red or blue shin and foot protectors are required. They must match the colour of your gloves to maintain uniformity during sparring.

03

Chest Guard

Post-First Grading

A full chest guard is mandatory for all students after their first grading. Provides essential protection during sparring and self-defence drills.

04

Mouth Guard

Post-First Grading

A properly fitted mouth guard must be worn at all times during sparring. Protects teeth, gums, and jaw from impact.

05

Groin Guard

Post-First Grading — Male Students
