About LBKI
Lion Budokan Karate International (LBKI) is a martial arts community that began in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2013. Founded by the visionary Shihan Mohiuddin Syed, LBKI has grown into a leading martial arts institution deeply rooted in traditional karate practices while embracing modern self-defence techniques.
At LBKI, we are guided by strong core values that shape everything we do. Integrity, respect, and continuous personal growth are the heart of our philosophy. We are committed to honesty, transparency, and ethical conduct, fostering a culture where all members feel valued and supported regardless of age, rank, or experience.
Our programs are designed for individuals of all ages and fitness levels, helping students build their karate skills, confidence, and overall well-being. Active participation and pursuit of excellence create a positive, encouraging environment where everyone can thrive.

As part of our global vision, LBKI expanded to Australia, where we continue our mission under the Budo Academy of Martial Arts and Fitness umbrella.
Through this growth, we remain dedicated to building a strong, supportive martial arts community where personal development, mutual respect, and lifelong learning are celebrated.
At LBKI, you are not just learning martial arts — you are becoming part of a family that inspires you to grow, improve, and achieve your full potential.
